2010 Vancouver Olympics Entertainer, Proud Canadian and Recycler, Singer/Songwriter Tracy Bone has been blessed with many exciting and satisfying career highlights, including sharing the stage with the likes of CCMA Hall of Fame Inductees Prairie Oyster, CCMA’s Female Artist of the Year – Crystal Shawanda, CCMA Rising Star Shane Yellowbird, Multi-Award earning group Doc Walker and Country Songwriter Charlie Major. She returned from the 2010 Olympics after a week full of live performances in Vancouver, BC, Canada with humbling “once-in-a-lifetime” memories. Representing her home province during Manitoba Night at BC Place, 2009 Juno Award Nominee Tracy Bone glowed with pride.
The Country Recording Artist performed on the nationally televised award ceremony and received top honours for “Songwriter of The Year” – ’09 Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards for her debut album “No Lies”. Additional highlights include 2008 Western Canadian Music Awards performance after her win for Aboriginal Recording of the Year. She took to the stage during (A.P.T.N.) Aboriginal Peoples Television Network’s live concert broadcast of ’08 National Aboriginal Day. The music found a place in an episode of APTN’s Mixed Blessings, and her performances have been featured in three APTN music series, Solstice Concerts, The Mix and Arbor Live. CBC Radio has twice featured Tracy on live radio broadcasts, Red Road Music and Future Sound Of Native Canada. The Ojibwa Songstress received “Women of Note” recognition in Winnipeg Women Magazine.
An inspiring and engaging speaker, Tracy reminds us to recognize and honor our gifts/talents. She travels across North America to connect with the youth through her musical workshops. She supports a brighter future through presentations to the youth, often with her partner J. C. Campbell. “We focus on self-esteem, positive relationships, song writing and performing”, Bone explains. “Building an arts program in my community, host fundraisers for a recreation center for the youth. Take the vision and expand. I’d like the youth to be hands on, so they can be proud of their work and contributions for the next generation.
