CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: THE CONTENDERZ

THE CONTENDERZ is a hip hop contest for new and emerging Aboriginal MCs. The organizers include senior Aboriginal hip hop artists and industry professionals who want to support the development of the next generation.

Up to 15 MCs will be invited to perform one song for a live audience at the Garrick Theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Saturday, June 19, 2010.

A panel of judes will score and rank each performance and three MCs will be crowned THE CONTENDERZ at this event. Joey Stylez, Heatbag Records and a third headliner will also perform, drawing additional attention to the event.

Contestant Eligibility Criteria:
• Individual MCs of Aboriginal ancestry
• 14-24 years old
• Has not released a full-length album with more than eight songs for sale in stores or from the stage at performances
• Is able to perform two radio friendly songs (no swearing, no racial comments, no sexual references, etc.) with original beats and original lyrics

Please complete all parts of the application form, sign it, and mail it in along with a demo CD, bio, and photo by May 13, 2010 to be eligible.
