NCI Jam Contestants Announced

After 91 submissions, including over 150 recorded songs, the 25 lucky amateur Aboriginal contestants for the 2006 NCI Jam have been announced. “We’re thrilled about the lineup this year,” says Dave McLeod, General Manager of NCI FM. “There’s definitely a fair representation of the Aboriginal communities in Manitoba.”

The 25 contestants are:

The annual talent contest is now in its 20th year and still going strong. “The Jam is a dream come true,” exclaims McLeod. “Sold out show, world class theatre and adoring fans... it highlights the power and connection that music has with Aboriginal people.”

The NCI Jam will be held at the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg on Saturday, September 2, 2006. Along with performance by each of the 25 contestants, legends like Ray St. Germain and Clint Dutiaume will also take the stage.
