Credence Francois Fundraiser

Posted on

Billy Joe Green, Lucien Spence, Rayne DeLaronde, Charlie McIvor and Venus Mantrap will be taking the stage in support the Francois family on Sunday, October 15, 2006. The fundraiser, which will help the family pay for any additional costs associated with their 43-day-old daughter Credence’s heart surgery, will be held at the Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg. “We put together the show to help us cover the cost of making the trip to Edmonton next week,” explains Frederick Francois, Credendence’s father. “The Variety Heart Foundation has provided some great support, but we still need to be prepared to pay for the things they can’t cover.”

Credence was bon with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, the same condition that the three-year-old daughter of Calvin Wood went to Edmonton for,  last May after the family held a similar fundraiser at the Pyramid Cabaret.

The American Heart Association states that Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, “...is usually fatal within the first days or months or life unless it's treated” (www.americanheart.org). Treatment for the condition must be handled in phases and the family’s trip to Edmonton next week will be the first of many in the next five years.

“Both my wife and I are out of work right now, so we really appreciate the support of the musicians,” states Francois. “These people play music for a living and we’re hoping to raise enough money to be able to give them something after the show.”

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance by calling Francois or purchased at the door on Sunday night.
