Bursaries Available for Aboriginal Students to Attend the ANDPVA MusicFest 2006 in Toronto

PSA- TORONTO -- The Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts (ANDPVA) today announced that applications are being accepted for up to 20 bursaries to attend the ANDPVA MusicFest in Toronto, November 24-25, 2006, at the Holiday Inn on King. The bursaries will give preference to student applicants.

ANDPVA provides opportunities for people working, studying and/or pursuing careers in the arts with an opportunity to showcase work, establish professional relationships, attend development workshops, gain mentors and collaborate with one another.

Bursary Funding was made available by Baagwating Community Association. The Musicfest bursaries will cover some travel, festival registration and meals. Bursary recipients must attend the Musicfest and afterwards submit a short written report on their experience. Preference will be given to applicants who are students. Preference will also be given to independent label artists, songwriters or producers.

Applications must be submitted to ANDPVA by Thursday November 23, 2006:
-Cover letter, introducing the applicants and why s/he should be considered;
-A resume focused on applicant's media ambitions, career accomplishments, skills and knowledge;
-Demonstrated financial need;
