Winnipeg hip-hop group Dead Indians will headline an all ages rap concert designed to promote freedom of expression and youth activism. Taking place at the Label Gallery on Friday March 23, the concert will feature excellent music in a safe, alcohol and drug free environment. Also on site will be representatives from the Native Youth Movement who will be on hand to help interested young people connect with grassroots organizers in their local community.

“A lot of our younger fans have been dying to see us, but can’t because we usually perform in night clubs” explains Ryan Genaille, a.k.a. P-nut, a rapper and producer in the group Dead Indians. "All Ages shows are where we got started way back. So we’re taking it back to our roots, which is something we're very excited about.”

As organizers of the event, the group also felt that since the 23rd is the week of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21st), that it made sense to invite community activists to participate. Dead Indians co-founder Kenny Genaille said “it made sense to us, because even though we’re not super-political, we still fight censorship and prejudice all the time”, alluding to a recent dispute with the City of Thompson's Winterfest organizing committee.

Other performers include Canadian Aboriginal Music Award winners Team RezOfficial, and well-respected Winnipeg rap crew Deep Cave.
