Aboriginal artists at the 2010 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival

R&B singer isKwe will be one of four Aboriginal acts taking the stage at this year’s TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival. She’ll be joined in the festival lineup by the elegant Elisapie Isaac, singer/songwriter Daniel Roa, and jazz singer Jodie Borlé.

isKwe, who splits her time between Toronto, New York, and Winnipeg, has two free performances set for July 3 and 4 at the newly renovated Old Market Square. Her Saturday concert starts at 7pm and Sunday’s performance begins at 7:20pm.

Elisapie Isaac, a JUNO Award winning artist who was raised in the isolated community of Salluit, Nunavik, will perform twice on June 27. Her first concert is set for a 7pm start on the free stage at the Old Market Square. Fans can catch her later that evening in a smaller and more intimate setting at Aqua Books. Tickets for this performance are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and she’s scheduled to take the stage at 9:30pm.

Jodie Borlé, described as having Ella Fitzgerald’s vocal stylings and Jann Arden’s wit, has one concert on June 27 during this year’s Jazz Fest. She’ll be performing at Le Garage Café in St. Boniface and she’s set for a 9pm start time. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Doniel Roa, a renowned percussionist and award winning songwriter, is set for a June 29 performance at Le Garage Café. Tickets for this concert are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and he’s scheduled to take the stage at 9pm.
