Streetz FM chart topper, Young Kidd recently appeared on the main page of www.thisizgame.com, the official website of hip hop icon Game. The blog post included a profile on the Winnipeg-based emcee along with a link to a free download of his latest single, entitled “Rider,” which features US-based crooner Kobe on the hook.

The recognition quickly lead to other blog posts, taking the song and Young Kidd’s name to several of the larger hip hop markets in the US.

The track has been posted on the Hear it First, Mz Hip Hop, 321 Hip Hop, and The Sermon’s Domain website to date alongside a number of ofther free offerings featuring notable hip hop artists.

The notoriety is tied to Young Kidd’s recent collaborations with Juice McCain of the Black Wall Street team. The emcees connected online this summer, resulting in a selection of recordings and a well-attended McCain show in Winnipeg last month.

Young Kidd, born Frank Fontaine, is an emcee with five years, two albums, two #1 singles, and one music video to his credit. A member of the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba, his second album, entitled 10x10 was recently voted Best New Local CD by Winnipeg readers of Uptown Magazine.

Young Kidd’s album is nominated for Best Rap / Hip Hop CD, while the lead track, entitled “Hometown” is nominated for Single of the Year at the 2010 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards.
