Darren Lavallee - AMP Mentor in Residence for October

Darren Lavallee is the Aboriginal Music Program's (AMP) Mentor in Residence for the month of October. Starting on Monday, October 3, he will be available for one-on-one career consultations, phone and email questions, fiddle lessons, and songwriting feedback at the Manitoba Music Resource Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Aboriginal songwriters and musicians of all ages and experience, residing in Manitoba, are encouraged to submit in-office consultation requests, call in with questions about the music industry, or email Darren for advice and feedback. Terrilyn Lavallee will be taking messages for Darren over the phone and email questions can be sent to Darren at the ampmentor@manitobamusic.com address.

ABOUT DARREN LAVALLEE:
From St. Ambroise, Darren Lavallee has been dubbed the “Marvelous Métis.” He was raised surrounded by music, dance, and the Michif language and is strongly traditional when it comes to his Métis roots. Darren has over 25 years of performance experience and has five CDs to his credit. In 2007, Darren swept the fiddle categories at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards and the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards with his Backroads Fiddlin’ album.

ABOUT THE AMP MENTORS IN RESIDENCE:
The AMP Mentors in Residence will be available to answer questions about the business side of the music industry, equipment and instruments, recording, performing, songwriting, and musicianship for the months of September, October, November, December, and January.
