Indian City and Daniel ROA earned hardware at the Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMA) this year. The announcement was made at an awards gala in the Casino Regina on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

Indian City continued its banner year, winning Aboriginal Recording of the Year for its debut release, Supernation. The album has already landed a dozen nominations, including six Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards (which will be handed out November 1-2 in Winnipeg), and won two Indian Summer Music Awards earlier this month. The band also performed during the gala.

Pop singer/songwriter Daniel ROA picked up his second Francophone Recording of the Year award, this time for his sophomore effort, Hyperbole. ROA won in 2009 for his debut, Le nombril du monde.

Tanya Tagaq and Jerry Sereda also earned nominations at the 2012 WCMA.

Jerry Sereda, Indian City, Daniel ROA, Don Amero, Federal Lights, Renée Lamoureax (Keith and Renée) and Marie-Josée Dandeneau (Oh My Darling) showcased at the BreakOut West festival in Regina. These spots gave each act with a chance to connect with music festival bookers, agents, manager, labels, publicists, and other industry professionals attending the conference and WCMA.
