Showcase Opportunity: Manitoba Music at the 2013 Reservation Economic Summit | Deadline: November 28

Manitoba Music is presenting a showcase of Manitoba Aboriginal artists at the 2013 Reservation Economic Summit in Las Vegas, which runs March 11 – 14. The showcase will take place during the National Centre for American Indian Enterprise Development's (NCAIED) VIP reception for tribal leaders, corporate sponsors, and other invited guests and conference delegates. This showcase is an opportunity for two Aboriginal artists or bands from Manitoba to perform for some of the most influential people in the Native American community. Final decision on performers rests with NCAIED.

To be considered for a showcase, you must:

  • Have a current or upcoming release (demo / EP / full-length)
  • Be export-ready (able to capitalize on opportunities in Canada and internationally)
  • Have a valid passport and be able to enter the USA
  • Have the financial capacity to undertake travel to and accommodations in Las Vegas (Market Access Program Support is available, but will not cover full costs)
  • Be available to showcase in Las Vegas the week of March 11 - 14, 2013 (date to be confirmed)
  • Be Aboriginal (First Nation, Inuit, or Métis)
  • Be a current resident of Manitoba
  • Be a Manitoba Music member

Submit the following by email to alan@manitobamusic.com:

  • “RES 2013 Showcase” in the subject line
  • A link to your aboriginalmusic.ca profile page (it MUST have a current bio, two songs from your most recent album, photo, and contact information)
  • A rationale for how this showcase fits your career development plan
  • One current high resolution promotional photo (300 dpi)
  • Your manager's or agent's name
  • And short bio (approximately 300 words)

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Music
  • Export readiness
  • Rationale for the showcase
  • Manager's or agent's experience
