Manitoba Music Announces Three Capacity-Building Programs for Local Industry

Manitoba Music is pleased to announce that submissions are now open for three programs designed to build the capacity of Manitoba’s music industry.

The new Artist Management Internship Program supports a paid internship in the music industry in Manitoba, in order to create new jobs in Manitoba’s music industry, provide mentorship and work experience for new artist managers, and increase the capacity of export-ready artist entrepreneurs in Manitoba. The program will select an artist management intern who will work directly for up to three artists, and will have access to industry mentors provided by Manitoba Music. The Music Industry Internship Program supports paid internships in the music industry in Manitoba. The purpose of the Program is to create new jobs in Manitoba’s music industry, provide mentorship and work experience for new workers in the music industry, and increase the capacity of music companies in Manitoba. The program will place interns within music companies in Manitoba. The deadline for companies is May 21, 2015 while the deadline for interns is May 28, 2015. Click for more info

The purpose of the Business Acceleration Consulting Program is to support Manitoba music industry companies and artist entrepreneurs in the engagement of business development consultants with the goal of increasing company capacity, accelerating company growth, and/or strengthening the company’s business model. Applications may be submitted at any time between April 1, 2015 and March 1, 2016. Click for more info

The programs are part of Manitoba Music’s multi-year trade and business development project, which is funded in part by the Government of Canada through Western Economic Diversification Canada and the Province of Manitoba. Through this initiative, Manitoba Music is able to focus on market and trade development as well as business productivity to continue to bolster the growth of Manitoba’s music sector.
