Meet the MusicWorks Panelist: Taiwo Bah

Posted on

Coming up on April 1, FACTOR’s Taiwo Bah will be coming in from Toronto to join us as a moderator for our MusicWorks event, Roundtable Discussion: Hip Hop in Manitoba. Get to know him a little better...

Before joining the FACTOR team, Taiwo Bah spent many years working in youth advocacy and capacity-building through various non-profit organizations across Toronto. This journey has led him to arts funders, ArtReach Toronto, and Toronto Arts Council before landing at FACTOR in 2016. His approach to the arts is guided by a focus towards equity and deep love of Black creativity and magic-making.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Manitoba Music is set to host a roundtable discussion to celebrate the successes of the local hip hop community, talk about the challenges, identify existing industry supports, and explore strategies. There will also be an opportunity to provide perspective on future hip hop-focused programming at Manitoba Music. FACTOR’s project coordinator for Sponsorships & Outreach, Taiwo Bah, will be making the trip from Toronto to moderate the discussion and bring a voice and viewpoint from federal music funders. The discussion will be followed by a casual mixer, offering a chance for the local hip hop community to connect, and share insight and experience. This event is free and open to non-members and members of Manitoba Music.
